Ahh rain, refreshing for everything, new painting by David Bottini

Had a wonderful day up in the country with an artist friend and his wife - talking art and a future collaboration. The rain strumming on the roof was invigorating as was a long water soaked wander through the woods. With a refreshed summer shower feeling - and welcome news of a large painting sale in Santa Fe - I have already enjoyed a few rousing hours in the studio - a large new painting moving well along. Perhaps wishful thinking for cool autumn days - a late September day along a stretch of my daily walk from notes and photos - pushing the verticality and the contrasting rise of forest bed angle. I am particularly fascinated with the effect of strong sun through the physicality of forests - so, once again I am dissolving the massing to describe the sun glare ... hope to complete this piece in the coming days.
