Day 38

A little bit of summer whimsy. The fireflies
have been magnificent this year, and I've been
watching them since they first appeared at the
beginning of June. From those observations, I just
sat down and painted what I remembered seeing.
What do you think?

I think it's dreamy and brings back memories of my childhood, my children's childhood and my granchildren's childhood--catching them in jars, looking at them and then releasing them on warm summer evenings.

Claire - love this painting! It brings me back to my childhood. I can't imagine posting 100 paintings in 100 days. It was all I could do to post 10 in 10 days! Congratulations! Linda

A little firefly the other night got caught in a spider's web and was all wrapped up in the webbing. If I hadn't run into the web myself, the firefly might have been the spider's late night snack. I saved it by pulling off the tight webbing and releasing the little thing inside on my houseplants. His little light really got around the house very well!
Claire, your painting makes me smile. Thanks for stirring great memories.

I feel the same thing looking at this painting, warm, delightful summer evenings.

I'm late commenting on this, but I loved this the day I first saw it. Very very nice.

Surfing the internet looking for a firefly picture that reminded me of one summer there where so many it was like dancing with them. Your beautiful picture reminds me of that.
