Linda Benton McCloskey - "The Rose Garden" - Encaustic - Number 5 of 10

After I completed this encaustic piece - I saw roses.... hence the name. The final layer was amber shellac which I torched and it burned away causing the crinkled effect. It's a fairly small piece for me (9 x 12) and created on cradled panel.

it's roses that I see
three + three
standing in the back
trying to keep track
of everyone in front
petunias, impatients and such
all getting together for lunch
at least that's my hunch!

An amazing splash of color and textures--love the horizontal composition as well.

Very radiant and jewel-like in its beauty.
