Linda--I love non-representational art--I tried to paint in that style once, but I could not --I love and am too much tied to the things I actually see--I would love to know what you "see" when you approach a canvas or paper. I like the complexity of this piece with all its overlapping shapes.
Cecelia, thanks for your comment. When I start a painting, I have no idea what the painting will be. I simply start by choosing a color and put it down on the paper or canvas. Then I decide on another color and start "putting down shapes". I became a non-objective painter after painting realistically for several years, but after a period of time I became bored with the process. It's more difficult to pant non-objectively because everything comes from within. I can express my creativity more easily. It always amazes me after I finish a painting - I say to myself "how did I do that"...the painting simply takes over and I react to what the painting tells me it needs. I know, sounds crazy... Again, I'm glad you enjoyed the painting. Linda
Again, one of my newest pieces. Image size is 32 x 24, which is a little bigger than a standard size watercolor paper. Enjoy.
