Day 36

I was so happy to find this beautiful, ripe heirloom tomato
when I went out to the vegetable garden this morning.
This particular variety is called 'Mortgage Lifter', and
is up there as one of my favorites. It reminds me so much
of the tomatoes my mom grew when I was a child.

It was very difficult not to slice it up and have it for
lunch today, but since I was painting from life I had
to exert a little patience. Tonight this tomato is going
to be the star at our supper table!

Looks delicious Claire! I envy the gardener. I have a painted green thumb!

There is something about a home grown heirloom tomato. The shape, color, so different and sure to taste great too. Lovely painting.
