Ghosted Sign, 24 x 30, oil on canvas, by Ron Donoughe

This is the finished Ghosted Sign painting. I usually study a painting for a week or two before calling it quits. Sometimes you'll notice an area that may need to be adjusted. Little things can mean a lot. Here I cleaned up the light and shadow on the green building and warmed up the white areas. This photo doesn't reflect those slight changes, but it did make a difference.

LOVE THE SKY, THE SUNLIGHT ON THE SIDE OF THE BUILDING AND CAR, THE SHADOW OF A NEARBY BUILDING, THE TRIP DOWN THE ROAD AND,OF COURSE, THE GHOSTED SIGN

ALSO--IT'S INTERESTING HOW MUCH I HATE TELEPHONE LINES CRISSCROSSING AND LINING THE STREETS OF TOWNS AND NEIGHBORHOODS IN REAL LIFE, BUT I LOVE THEM IN PAINTINGS. ARTISTS MAKE THE ORDINARY EXTRAORDINARY.

This is fantastic, Ron. You paint the qualities of light so beautifully, and the faded lettering on the building is sublime.

A great painting ... crisp and vibrant.

Ooh, I love this one! Reminds me of places in rural IL that you might see on a day of riding for joy. That blue house is intriguing!

All of your work is so painterly, Ron, not to mention, perfect!
