get, a little water brings them right back.

Van Gogh's painting of old shoes comes to mind--any subject matter can make great art.

Thank you Maria and Cecelia. I have to admit that I really enjoyed doing this one! My grandmother used to have an old pair of black, sturdy high-heeled shoes she used to wear to garden. They would have made a great painting, but I believe my gardening shoes are much more comfortable. :)

It's amazing what women of the past generation wore for everyday chores, My mother-in-law did housework in her "sturdy heels".
