"Lone Tree" is an unframed painting a day pastel on paper with an approximate image size of 4" x 6". This pastel continues the study of spring related paintings I'm currently working on.

If you're visiting Downtown Lancaster, PA, stop in at The Pennsylvania Arts Experience, Arts Orientation Center, 114 North Prince Street. I just became a member and have a painting, "Dark Tree Row 2" on display in the gallery. This Friday is 1st Friday in Lancaster and is a great time to check out all the art in the galleries downtown.

Congrats Jack - Lancaster is an awesome area for fine art. I think I have looked at the website for PA Arts Experience. Is your brother-in-law Mark Workman involved in that group?
Thanks, Yes, Mark was one of the first members.
The undertones you use with the greens are really attractive. This is one of those 'simple' paintings, until you take a closer look and realize all the subtle, beautiful passages that are there.
