Introducing Myself.

Hi! Just introducing myself and my work. I'm a new member to the group. Most of my work is in acrylics. I enjoy painting landscapes, figures and portraits. Currently I am working on several different paintings. I typically have 3 to 6 paintings I work on at any given time. This is a painting I completed a few years ago, titled "Thoughts of War, Thoughts of Home." Although it is set in the Civil War time, the painting is more about the separation a war brings than it is about the particular period. Hope you enjoy it.

A gorgeous painting here, Michael. I honestly thought it was a photo of reenactment actors. Just quite lovely. My daughter did a painting capturing the exact same emotion you expressed as your basis for this painting and it too was stunning.

Welcome to this wonderful blog--you will see such great artwork here--very inspirational, as is your painting-I've been looking at images of battle-fatigued soldiers for decades--newsreels at the the movies, movies, paintings, TV, newspapers, etc. and I can say that no matter what the year, no matter what the uniform, the sad facial expressions are all the same. On this Memorial Day weekend--thank you for your initial entry.
