"Hummingbird at Morning Glory" Oil by Charlotte Yealey

I am not sure what species this hummingbird is since I used a reference photo from Flicker for this painting. I usually use my own photos but I need quite a few bird paintings for a show and my photos of hummingbirds are limited to one species that comes to my feeder.

Beautiful painting, Charlotte. I always appreciate when people share their photos. How you feel about that subject matter and interpret it to your canvas makes it special. And, from the challenges I participate in on the blogspots, no one artist paints it the same way. I'm sure this photographer would be thrilled that you chose his/her photograph to use.

Charlotte, this is beautiful. You've captured that quick and elusive delicate nature of the birds and flowers. Quite yummy!

exquisitely delicate as a painting of a hummingbird should be!

This is lovely, Charlotte. I hope that you will post the other paintings of hummingbirds that you are working on!
