"Marbles" by Debra Tritt-Kreiger

"Marbles" Watercolor 4"x6" on 140lb Arches Paper

Just a fun little painting. Looking for some interesting objects to paint I came across my sons marble collection. I really had fun painting these shining gems!

Reflections, both on the front and the back of the marbles...and shadows... You can see right through them. Very nice.

I love your marbles! I included some in a painting I did of a horn and trumpet...The instruments were a pain to do but the marbles were my comic relief! Fun..

Debra, isn't fun to make a painting from the most common things in our life? It gives those items special meaning. This is a little off the subject but I want to share it. My mother used to have a handful of these in her walker when she lived at an assisted living facility. She would hand them out when someone complained they lost their marbles. She is gone now but this painting brings back warm feelings.
Well done painting.

Thank you for you kind comments. Ron, your story made me laugh. It touches me to know that yes a simple little object can bring out warm and wonderful memories.I'm sure your mom made many people laugh and that is a gift.
