PANSY
by Claire Beadon Carnell
100 Paintings in 100 Days Challenge
'Inspirations from a Back Yard'
69/100
We're having a beautiful day here, lots of sunshine and blue skies.
You could almost fool yourself into thinking it is early Spring
until you walk outside and feel the temperatures! No doubt
about it, it's definitely Winter here in PA. Thought it would be
nice to paint this little sunlit pansy to brighten the day. Something
to continue the illusion that it's a little bit warmer outside than
it really is...

Nor’easter
while cold winds are blowin’
the wild waves are trollin’
o’re Bearskin Neck docks
and poundin’ the rocks
of Rockport's sturdy shores
where lobstas by the score
go about their daily chores
‘neath the churning choppy seas

Dream Big - Pheasant Field Willow by Daily Painter of Pennsylvania Mary Beth Brath
I have only taken 1 painting class. It was a plein air class at the Mechanicsburg Arts Center. Our class visited this B&B a few times during the 6 week session. The Willows were mesmerizing. I took several photos for later use. This painting was started inside the Arts Center during class on a very rainy day. By the end of that days' session, the instructor told me it resembled a palm tree and she was right. I was not very happy, but determined to figure out how to paint a willow. This was re-worked in my home studio over the next month and is now one of my favorites.
We all have challenges to overcome. Don't let the challenges become excuses. When your passion is strong, you will find a way to overcome everything that stands in the way of your dream. The dream needs to be bigger than the challenge. Set goals and go for it. Take some time over the next week to plan out your next year, DREAM BIG and work hard!

Riley Watercolor Animal Portrait by Pennsylvania Daily Painter Bertie Brown - Art is Instrumental

Riley
original watercolor animal portrait; 6"h x 9"w
Alliance Compliance
O Molly Marie
you silly cat
you really think that
a brown and black dog
could take your place
with his cute little face
oh, he doesn’t bite
nor put up a fight
but is amiable, quite
the opposite of you
when you don’t approve
of the things that I do
so don’t be jealous
as you can see
it’s merely a painting
of Robert’s Riley
...artwork compliances
not broken alliances...

I Can Do It - watercolor portrait by Kathy Michels
Watercolor portrait of another little ballerina. I am still working on the portraits of my young ballerinas. The intensity continues - this little one is just concentrating so hard. I think I am enjoying painting this age group because of all the facial expressions I captured during my photo shoot. Her little chest is puffed out and she is just so into watching her little classmates as she prepares for her turn.http://www.artbykathymichels.com/

Musically Inclined Series (Mozart) Musical Motif Watercolors by Pennsylvania Daily Painter Bertie Brown - Art is Instrumental

Musically Inclined/Mozart
original musical motif watercolor/Mozart: 11"w x 14"h
Mozart, Sophie and Me
Sophie came dandied
And dressed up today
She had an appointment
And couldn’t stay late
We listened to classics
We’d had enough pop
It makes us much smarter
We’ve read that a lot....
Suddenly we heard it
A clarinet was sailing
On tumbling rolling seas
Of high and so-low notes
With others in between
The accompanying horns in A
Were wailing right along
Fearsome parts to play
But they sounded strong...
Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto
Got us in the groove
We grabbed up our paints
Our creativity on the move
We had work to do
In our creative arts room..

Sunflowers for my secret sister by Linda Young
Musically Inclined Series (Violin) Musical Motif Watercolors by Pennsylvania Daily Painter Bertie Brown - Art is Instrumental

original musical motif watercolor: 6"w x 8"h
Musical Mystery
A new thing to do
When you’re bored or feelin’ blue
Let a cloth freely drop
Right over the top
Of a still life gone stale
Or one that just failed
And let a painting begin
Using paint thick and thin
Till a theme comes alive
An idea starts to thrive
It’s surprising what you find
Hidden behind time..

"A Winters Day" By Debra Tritt Kreiger
"A Winters Day"10"x14" watercolor on 140lb arches paper
I painted this painting from a scene right outside my studio window. It was one of those cold dreary snowy days and this bright little fellow came to visit. It is no wonder people just love the warm colorful sight of a cardinal in winter. Hoping you all have a very happy and peaceful holiday season.

Water Music Series Watercolor Seascape by Daily Painter Bertie Brown - Art is Instrumental

Water Music
original watercolor seascape: 16"w x 10"h
OBX Overtures
oh to be
by the sea
on a day such as this
would it be
could it be
just the ultimate bliss....
quiet sea
mysteries
in the ocean abyss
beckon me
silently
in a calming caress...
oh to be
by the sea
where a warm gentle breeze
urges me
just to be
lying there peacefully .....

This is a repost of a painting I did about a year ago
of a snowy farm as seen from the Bonnybrook Road
in Carlisle, PA. I have been wishing
for a little bit of snow to
go with the frigid weather we have been having here, so
maybe this will be my good luck charm...
Here's to hoping we have a White Christmas like
we did last year :)

Autumn Suite - four related compositions by David Bottini, paintings 'for Gabriel'

Working toward completing my part of a juried 3 artist exhibit coming soon in Providence, RI. The exhibit is titled "Intimate Spaces" - this group (and 7 other paintings) will be included.
Set out to create a group of paintings that interact as compositions as well as being a thematic series. Each painting can stand alone as an independent piece - but I like the synergy of the suite.
