This is the second plein air painting I did while with my niece. We went to the Middletown boat launch with the Susquehanna Valley Plein Air Painters. The river was really high so I decided to paint this tree lined path right beside the river. I really liked the way the light takes you through the trees and if you look real close you'll see a little bluebird sitting on her house.

My niece painted a wonderful painting of the river. I believe it is going to be a gift for some one special!

 Spent the morning with my buddies painting at Fort Hunter looking at the river and the Rockville Bridge. What a fantastic day! Had to dust off the acrylics, but didn't do too bad for the first time out this year. I got most of the painting finished and only had to add some bling when I got home.

I finally got out to paint. I hadn't picked up a brush since my operation in October. I had to push myself to go-I'm still having problems walking, carrying things;  plein air painting is all that and more. I'm so glad I did, though. The weather was mild and pleasant. The setting was peaceful and filled with wild life. It felt good to be painting again.

Private ART Lessons by Sue Marrazzo

Here is a look into 2 recent Private ART Lesson Classes with my student Mrinalini at the Art Center School and Galleries. In this class we worked with professional acrylic paints, different acrylic mediums, brushes, and palette knives. We worked on a stretched canvas and worked in layers. This was an experimental mixed media lesson. This is 2 classes worth of work shown in these few photos. Mrinalini is working to finish this up, and when I have a photo of her finished painting, I will post it for the DPP community to see.

Sandstorm by Artist Sue Marrazzo

This is a painting that I did for the current Highmark Corporate Exhibit. I have my art on exhibit there for the month of July and August. It's a very impressive space. This painting started out with a used canvas from one of my classes and I was determined to make it in to a work of ART that I would want to show in a public space. Sandstorm was painted with acrylic paint and mediums. The effect was a very textured Painting. I also have my bio hanging with my ART.

This is my quick draw painting from Camp Hill. I had to do some work on this one when I got home. Just didn't have enough time to finish. I think it turned out pretty nice. This is the front entrance to a house on Walnut Street.  I always have to remind myself to simplify! This painting and others will be part of the Susquehanna Valley Plein Air Painters show at the Mechanicsburg Art Center July 12th thru August 2nd.

This is the first plein air painting I did from Cecelia's neighbors back yard garden. What a nice way to kick off Camp Hill plein air. I was really happy with this one and only had to add a few more lights when I got it home.

This is another painting completed during Camp Hill Plein Air. I had a nice shady spot to listen and see all the performances of nature. What caught my eye was the wonderful field of flowers blooming in the distance and all the rich colors reflecting in the water.

I just finished this commissioned painting today. I was on a hiatus last week while participating in  the Camp Hill Plein Air event, but resumed working on it this week. It will join another of my large works in the patron's Florida home. Both paintings were done from photos I took on a glorious morning in a Delaware state park. I'm ready now to paint outdoors again.

Lord I Give You My Heart by Deborah Nell

Imaginary Landscapes Series

In addition to the small paintings I do daily, I continue a series of larger work - "Imaginary Landscapes." Making these has kept  me from going completely crazy on the long, cold days of winter because I can imagine summer in high color with warm temperatures.

This painting was done from a photo I took at Savannas Recreational Area in Fort Pierce. The egret perched on that twiggy-like branch had lots of other egrets he could have cavorted with, but chose to stay by himself the whole time I was there. I included him in another painting I did there that day- again-all alone.

Daily Painter of PA Sue Marrazzo Exhibits in Carlisle

Sue Marrazzo has a solo exhibit at 

the Carlisle Chamber of Commerce until the end of September 2012. This is a 3 month Solo Art Exhibit.

There is an eclectic mix of Sue's artwork...acrylic painting, mixed media and photography on display in this historic place in Carlisle, PA. Here are a few photos taken with my i-phone last week. I went in to take a few photos, and in turn, was showered with much praise for my exhibit of artwork.  I love to hear feedback from the businesses and galleries that I show in...It lets the artist in me know that my work is appreciated.
