A New Youth Art Class By Sue Marrazzo

NEXGen Arts Festival By Sue Marrazzo

This past Saturday, I had the pleasure of being one of 5 judges for the NEXGen Arts Festival ( www.nexgenartsfestival.org ) in Harrisburg, PA. There was youth art categorized in 3 age groups. There were many mediums, and genres. I got to meet Susan Corbett, the current PA Govenor's wife. She is a supporter of the ARTS. I am always so inspired by the Young Artists.

 I got permission to share these with the DPP community.

CAREER DAY ATCs BY SUE MARRAZZO

On Friday, Oct. 4th I spoke to a group of 8th graders at Good Hope Middle School. This is my 2nd post about this, but I wanted to share some photos with the DPP Community. Here are some photos of the student's work. This is just a few COLLAGE ATCs that they created...All were done with found papers on bristol paper ATCs. I received an e-mail yesterday from the school CAREER DAY organizer asking if I will come back next year...YES! 

It's very energizing and inspiring to be around Young Artists!!!

Below are some photos that I took today of my students with their finished Mixed Media Self-portrait. I am teaching a one-week youth painting class at The Art Center School and Galleries of Mechanicsburg. The students created their ART in 3 steps. First they collaged the background; then painted their face, hair and upper body; and last they drew their facial features with a black  Sharpie. 

They were ALL so HAPPY with their paintings!!!

Youth Art Party by Sue Marrazzo

Today, I was the art instructor for a YOUTH ART PARTY for 17 children at the Art Center School and Galleries in Mechanicsburg, Pa. We painted an abstract mixed media painting with acrylic paints, found papers, stamps, glitter, iridescent medium, and more. These were such a fine group of small artists. Today, I had the pleasure of teaching at CALC! It was so much FUN...I had 12 young art students aged 6 to 11, and one great helper...Sadie!!!  Our morning was filled with lessons in COLOR, Sketching and Painting. Our final project was a large 18" x 18" SELF-PORTRAIT PAINTING. Each student shared their work with the class and got to take home a ONE of a KIND Painting of themselves! Above are a few photos of 2 of the students who are from Germany: Anton and Sonja. Their mom allowed me to share these photos with the Daily Painters of Pennsylvania Community.
 I hope you are inspired, like myself with the PURITY, FRESHNESS, and INNOCENCE of these 2 young ARTISTS!  IT was a GREAT GROUP of Students!!!!
