Water Lily - Black Moshannon #2 by Jill Foster

12" x 16" soft pastel on Rtstx board
One summer I had the opportunity to take some amazing photographs of the water lilies in bloom at Black Moshannon State Park. I decided to paint a series of them. I find the shapes of the flowers extremely interesting and even though their design looks simple, they are challenging to paint.

Very nice Jill. I like the way you handled the petals and the interesting shapes in the water.

The lavender coloring is so appropriate to this time of year, Jill, and quite striking against the darks in the water.
