"Sparkling Water" by Pennsylvania Daily Painter Pat Koscienski

"Sparkling Water"
Acrylic on canvas
10" x 10"
"Sparkling Water" was painted plein air at Pinchot State Park. The morning started off a little overcast, but soon turned into a need for the sun umbrella. I wanted to capture the sunlight bouncing off the water and the canoe in an "impressionistic" manner, using small dabs of paint. The acrylic paint dried quickly, but using a wet palette kept the paint workable for a long time with little spritzing needed. If interested in purchasing contact Pat at patsfineart@hotmail.com

Another lovely offering, Pat! You did indeed manage that impressionistic feel on the water and a beautiful job of capturing the sunlight reflections...but then, truly, I am not surprised. Your work is always beautiful!

I always find it interesting when someone sees one of my landscapes and it reminds them of one of their favorite scenes. Once, an Irish landscape reminded a lady of her Grandfather's farm in PA. This scene reminds me of our neighborhood in Holland outside of Eindhoven, when I was an Ex-Pat for AMP/Tyco. It brought back some very pleasant memories. I thank you for your ability to paint a memory of mine- and you did it so beautifully. Ain't Art Grand!

Thanks, Autumn, I miss painting in that sun and watching it bounce off that water. Sounds like I'm starting to get cabin fever.....

Yes, I agree, Thom, art is grand! I'm glad I was able to shake up some fond memories for you. Curious, what is a "ex-Pat"?

Phillip and I took our canoe past this site in the late fall. Beautiful area.
Pinchot is a great place for plein air outings. I also look forward to spring!

Mary Beth, I think we will all be looking forward to that first day back out. You are right, Pinchot State Park is a beautiful, local spot to paint.
