"Silver Springs Wetlands" by Pennsylvania Daily Painter Pat Koscienski

"Silver Springs Wetlands"
12" x 16"
Oil on board

"Silver Springs Wetlands" was painted plein aire at a wetlands located near Bate's Farm off Silver Springs Road in Mechanicsburg, PA. Several people passing by remarked about the drab, colorless day. As an artist, I saw the warm siennas and golden ochers. It is the gift of the artist to be able to take the 'dull and drab' and find the beauty - which you have done very successfully here!

Thanks, Claire, that's the fun part. Earl Blust used to quote an artist who said, "No one wants to buy an ugly painting! Maybe that's a small incentive, also.

Very nice use of color.

Thank you, Tatiana. I was at the church end looking towards where we were painting. A very nice spot for plein aire artists.

Thanks, Becky, it was a little hard to find color that day, but earth colors can be beautiful. That's when the oranges & golds have a chance to shine.
