"Autumn in the Pond" by Debra Tritt Kreiger

8.5" x 11.5" watercolor on 140lb arches paper

This painting was inspired by the pond at Kings Gap State Park in PA. I feel very blessed to witness these really cool moments and to share them with you through my paintings. There were a lot of curious frogs wanting to get a better look at me. This one posed just perfect!

"Into the Night" by Debra Tritt Kreiger

Watercolor 8.5" x 10 on arches 140lb paper

This is a Barred Owl. I came upon this lovely bird while visiting a birds of prey center in South Carolina. What a wonderful experience and such a beautiful bird.

"To Hear a Mockingbird" by Debra Tritt Kreiger

Watercolor 8.5" x 11" on 140lb arches paper

This painting has been on my to do list for awhile. While I was plein air painting in Gettysburg, this handsome, but sassy mockingbird seemed to be amused at what I was doing. He hung around and chatted awhile. Here he is on top a young apple tree in all his glory!

"Sea Turtle Study" By Debra Tritt Kreiger

Sea Turtle Study 10"x8.5" on 140lb Arches paper
In preparation for a larger painting I just finished up this head study of a green sea turtle. The colors are exaggerated but the anatomy is accurate. I just fell in love with her as she was sunning herself on a Hawaiian beach. They are extraordinary creatures but they are endangered. Sea turtles have been on this earth so long they have seen the dinosaurs come and go, but they might not survive the cruel hands of our modern society if things don't change.

Untitled" By Debra Tritt Kreiger

15"x11" watercolor on Arches 140lb paper

This is part of a nature/seashore series I'm working on. I'm at a loss for a title. If anyone can give me some suggestions I'd appreciate it. This was fun to paint and will look great with the deceased crab I painted prior. We all know everything is here for a purpose in this great circle of life.

"Hanging On" By Debra Tritt Kreiger

Hanging On 3.5x5 watercolor on 140lb paper

This is a sweet little painting I did of  tiny sparrow hanging out on a rather windy day among the cattails! I had to really look for him because he blends right into the background. I believe this little bird is called a chipping sparrow. He has a wonderful song to sing.

You lookin' at me?, by Linda Young

"You lookin' at me?", watercolor
4-3/4" x 6-7/8"
Linda Young artist

This is the first Paint and Draw Together challenge for 2011.  I must say, the challenges aren't getting any easier.  When I looked at the original photo, it appeared to me the Monarch butterfly had suddenly stopped and noticed the person behind the camera was getting close enough for it to be cautious.  The original didn't have any flowers so I added a few for "him" to taste while he is waiting to be purchased.

If you'd like more information about purchasing this painting, please contact me via this website link.
