covered bridge by kim smith

This one is a special request from my cousin. It's of Siegrist's Mill Covered Bridge in Lancaster County which was washed away in September of 2011. So sad when such beautiful landmarks are victims of the weather...even when they are rebuilt they never have the same original charm.

"Covered Bridge at Poole Forge" by Beth Bathe

Covered Bridge at Poole Forge, 6 x 6 oil on panel, plein air
Today I spent a beautiful Sunday at Historic Poole Forge in Lancaster County, PA. It was a wonderful day to paint outdoors. At one point during the morning an Amish family of about ten or twelve, from the neighboring farm wondering down to watch me paint, and ask about painting. I felt like I was in a Norman Rockwell painting...another great plein air experience.
