Winter Plein Air Study by Daily Painter of Pennsylvania Mary Beth Brath

Winter Study by Mary Beth Brath
8x10" Acrylic on Canvas
Plein Air

My Judson Outfitter's Tripod arrived last week. It was so fun to finally use my new equipment. I used a limited palette of cool and warm yellows and purples as suggested by Lori McNee at http://www.finearttips.com/2010/05/a-study-in-complimentary-colors-using-yin-yang/#comment-34219.

I also ordered the insert to hold an 8x10" substrate.  It seems it is for panels only and not canvas? Couldn't figure it out but painted anyway. The photo shows what the painting looked like after an hour of painting outside.  I took the painting in to my studio to put on finishing touches.
