"Across Henry's Fields"
by Larry Lerew
en plein air, September 2013, Henry Spangler Farm, Gettysburg Battlefield, Gettysburg, PA
Watercolor and Ink on 8 x 14" watercolor paper
#13-11-04
I painted this en plein air and took it back to may studio and felt it was to washed out and needed more defining to give it life. I finished it today in the studio and feel it now has the energy it needed.
These fields located near Henry Spangler's barn are beautiful today and well worth seeing. There's a horse trail running through this farm and I was fortunate enough to greet a dozen or more trail blazers that day. I also enjoyed the peace and quiet and the sound of an owl hooting in the woods.
