Sea Turtle Study 10"x8.5" on 140lb Arches paper
In preparation for a larger painting I just finished up this head study
of a green sea turtle. The colors are exaggerated but the anatomy is
accurate. I just fell in love with her as she was sunning herself on a
Hawaiian beach. They are extraordinary creatures but they are
endangered. Sea turtles have been on this earth so long they have seen
the dinosaurs come and go, but they might not survive the cruel hands of
our modern society if things don't change.
