Here's a colorful beginning to a pastel from a photo I took a few days ago. The view is at Barlow's Knoll, at the Gettysburg National Military Park, just below the Old Alms House Cemetery. The fencing is cemetery fencing. I'm sort of working my way down, in a large sense, and yet dodging all about as well. This is done on a toothed, rather than sanded surface.
This location is an easy walk from my house and very lovely in the evening. It's always breezy there ... a bit challenging for working on site. But I think it would be worth it!
My artwork can be viewed at my site, South Mountain Sketchbook.

I love the clean colors in this, Dianne - just like a crisp, clear Autumn day!
