'Turnin' Fallish' pastel, en plein air, by Dianne Lorden

I made this plein air pastel of Fuller Lake, in the Pine Grove Furnace area of Michaux State Forest, during the recent SVPAP picnic. The view was very pretty with autumn colors, even though it was drizzly from time to time. Raindrops on this blue sanded pastel surface were worrisome, but no harm was done. As the weather was questionable, I brought an abbreviated set-up to the paint out, leaving some of my pastels behind, along with my plein air easel, in the car.

I just worked on a picnic table, pretty much ready to run! I’m looking forward to visiting this site again on a warmer and drier day!
I can be reached through my website, South Mountain Sketchbook, where visitors will also find my blog.

I have such respect for pastel artists! A very difficult medium. You've done a great job here! Love the reflections!
