McKee Half Falls on Susquehanna River by Daily Painter of Pennsylvania Mary Beth Brath

McKees Half Falls by Mary Beth Brath
16x20" Acrylic on Canvas
About 80% Plein Air

Last Tuesday a few members of the SVPAP plein air group (Ralph Hocker, Cathy Mabius, Larry Lerew, Julie Riker and myself) went to McKee Half Falls to paint.  This is the day the temperature went over 100 degrees.  It was great in the morning, but by lunch the air was stagnant...what a day for me to pick a 16x20" canvas.  I did get it blocked in and it was looking good.  When I looked at it at home, I realized I needed to widen the river and shrink the trees across the river.

The image is blurry and does not show the details.  Like I always say...Fine Art Must Be Viewed In Person.

Fantastic! I've been waiting to see this painting. I love the light on the water and the motion of the current. I see you got the feeling of the moment. Great painting with action.

I was impressed with how nice this was looking on location. Love the changes you made as well. It's a really nice piece Mary Beth!
