"Balustrade" by Taryn Day

 oil on board
6"x6"

I love the word balustrade. It's purely for the sound of it, and the way it rolls off the tongue. Remember the children's book character Ramona naming her doll Chevrolet just because she liked how it sounded? Life can be similar- sometimes there is no great meaning in a moment, just a sense of happiness over the way it feels to be alive.

Taryn, your magic with the brush is amazing; simple and masterful as the words expressed in this piece.

Taryn I have always enjoyed your work you have a nice style your subject selection makes for interesting pieces. you make wise choices in the way you portray them. You give an element of mystery to the human figures you show. Well done

Another really interesting painting. I like how you used that cast shadow to accentuate the highlights on the hair.

Beautiful painting, Taryn. I keep studying the way you model the features of her face...you have such mastery!
