Wanna Be Lap Dog - Watercolor - Deb Watson

I was taking this painting out of its frame to send for jurying into a group, so I couldn't resist reworking a bit. (I can't leave anything alone.) I had the top of the window ledge white and the sill very dark, so the contrast between all those straight lines kept pulling my eye from the face. I washed over the middle background area, reducing the change in value. I like it much better.

This is beautiful Debi. I love the darkness behind her. I am drawn into her face and down to that adorable little puppy. I really love all the different textures in this one. Absolutely Gorgeous!

Great post Debi. My eyes went right to her face. Happy to know that you re-work when needed.

Beautiful light in this painting!
I also love how it tells a story. My cat tries to walk on my laptop to find her spot, but this poor puppy has given up trying to get his owner's attention...
