Rockville Bridge with Train by Lyn O'Neal

Rockville Bridge with Train

oil on canvas board

9 x 12 inches

I painted this plein air piece in two sessions. Started last year on a bright, sunny day down at the boat launch at Ft. Hunter Mansion in Harrisburg. Came close to finishing, but needed to finish the water and bridge. So, last week we painted there again, only this time I was at a different viewpoint, though it didn't affect the painting. However, the light this day was overcast and even. Thankfully I remembered the backlit bridge from the prior session and the moving, shimmering water was similar. It would be nice to finish them all in one session, but that's rarely the case for me.

Someone tell me why my post has so much space between the lines!

Hey! Nice to see a post and a beautiful painting from you today. You are fortunate to be able to get out with the group and paint plein air even though you may not finish it in one session; this is lovely.

Your post looks like the others, the same amount of space between the lines.

Love your painting and the way the light accenting the underside of the arches... nice!
If you are referring to the spacing between the lines of your painting title, try holding down the shift key and then hitting the return key (soft return) vs. just hitting the return key. That is how I had to do it to make the line spacing tighter together. Hope that helps.

Hi Lyn - gorgeous painting. I painted with Ralph and Sue this week on McCormick Road.

We have had extra spaces popping up for a long time. Sometimes I go in and edit the post, but it has been a problem. Let me work on it again.

Beautiful painting. Strong composition. I think it takes a special skill to return to a painting after so long and keep it feeling fresh. You did a great job.

This is absolutely beautiful, Lyn. I sent you information about the double spacing. Hope it helps.
I will make sure Mary Beth gets a copy.
