THE BANKS OF THE SUSQUEHANNA By Cecelia Lyden

oil on stretched canvas

11x14

Today was a perfect day for plein air painting--low humidity, cool, soft breeze, beautiful color, lots of sunshine and rich, dark shadows. This view is from West Fairview, looking down the river toward Harrisburg.

Oh, I'm trying not to be jealous. I am missing some great days and this painting reflects a beautiful day.
Nice!

Very nice! We made a good choice with that location.

That haze of pink from the loosestrife is painted beautifully, Cecelia. I was at Ft. Hunter the same day, and your painting makes me feel as though I am right there along the water.
