"Farm Fields" by Tatiana Myers

"Farm Fields"
Oil study on board 8 x 10"

Another small painting I did after my week-long stay in State College. One day some of us went to paint on a top of so called "Cemetery Hill", what naturally was an old cemetery with terrific view. Light was changing, Sun was going down, and farm fields around were getting just better and better looking
touched with that last kiss of day-light. Beautiful, romantic, quiet...
With all this in mind I painted this simple study.

Beautiful Tatiana! I love that end of day, "last kiss of day-light" moment.. You captured it really well.

GREAT COMPOSITION AND VIBRANT COLORS-LOVE THE LACK OF FUSSY DETAIL--LOOKS ALMOST ABSTRACT

I agree with Cecelia. The graphic quality and minimalist shapes are great here.

Thank You to everyone.
Cecilia is totally right - it was about composition of those shapes, more then anything else. I had to simplify it even more, compare to original scene to adjust it better to my board size (what is...small). I think it worked out OK, but that very little building was a cherry on a top with its red roof. I don't like normally to put building in, however in this landscape it was exactly what it needed.
Yes, Mary Beth,I was TOTALLY enjoying the day when we painted there. It was not a view what I painted A-La Plein Air, but it was almost like "to be back there" what I was working on it.
