Day 80

With the very wet Spring that we had this year, I
never was able to get my sunflower seeds in the
ground - such a disappointment as I love them for
their beauty and for the seeds they provide for the birds.

My daughter had a random seed pop up in
her veggie garden - a sunflower that is at least seven
feet tall!  I got some photographs of this beautiful stray
sunflower, and used them to develop my painting.
May have to take another picture of this once it
is completely dry - sorry for the glare!

Claire, you are welcome to come to my home to paint sunflowers. (any others are welcome too) I have a nice patch of them with several different colors, shapes and heights.
Echinacea, black eyed Susan, Purple sage, hydrangea too and a few day-lilies.

Oh, by the way...lovely sunflower!
Have a great day.

Another day, another wonderful painting--this one is so lively with the flower's twitching petals and strong contrast with the rich blue background.

I have a few volunteer sunflowers in my yard that are now almost 13 ft high! Seems like the seeds the birds randomly plant do much better than the ones we carefully plant and water and nurture.
Your painting is vibrant and cheerful - love it!
