Debi Watson ~ New Watercolor Painting ~ Deer

October - the cornfields are picked over and last year's fawns are getting big. With the weather changing, it's foggy some mornings, until the bright sunlight burns through it. Fall is my favorite time of year.

'October Fog' - transparent watercolor on Arches paper, 18 x 24"
Price: $1,200 (framed, with acid free materials)
First showing at the Sixth Annual Fall Art Exhibition
at Mason Dixon Library 250 Bailey Drive Stewartstown, PA
Opening Reception Sunday, Nov 14 2:30 - 5 p.m.
Continuing through December 17.

I wish you could have heard the little {{oh!}} when I saw this! You have painted the poses and 'essence' of the deer so beautifully. The whole painting has such a lovely palette of colors and tranquil quiet that I find very appealing.
(We had three sets of fawns born up on the mountain this Summer - what a joy to see them grow!)

Fall, fog and fawns--all beautifully rendered.

Such a wonderful painting! The back ground, the colors, the haze, the dark shadow in the foreground, perfect balance. You've captured a moment here, the deer look alert like perhaps they've heard something and might dart away at any moment. This is great because it contrasts so well with the quiet peacefulness of the rest of the painting. I think this is much better than if the deer had just been eating, looking down at the ground, etc., very nice.
