I dropped this watercolor off at Eye Candy Gallery in the Tremont neighborhood of Cleveland for the Art Walk yesterday. I am a featured artist for the month of July and have 8 paintings there. The Art Walk was a really great time... the shops, neighborhood and people... so fun. I was born in that neighborhood and it is nice to see the new restaurants, galleries, studios, museums, churches.... go if you get a chance!

The colors and contrast set the mood of this painting and also makes me question-is she going to take the bucket and clean something or milk a cow?
The figure is great!
I know I already commented on this painting on your website, Maria - but I have to say again that this is an incredible, powerful painting.
There's such a sense of place, of atmosphere, of mood...just wonderful.
I just love your work Maria. My mother's family came from the Carpathian Mountians Region. When I lived about 30 minutes away from Cleveland, we went to "Little Italy" to go gallery hoping. I have several paintings at a gallery in Middlefield Ohio which is located between Cleveland and Pittsburgh.
What a Great 'Slice of Life' portrait style you have!!
I enjoy all your people paintings- and having lived in Europe for years on an Ex-Pat assignment, your style is very reminiscent of the art we saw in Holland.
Thanks to all of you. It really means alot to know that my pantings connect with people.
Mary Beth, I need to revisit "Little Italy" again. I remember getting the best pizza at Mama Santas. I wonder if it is still there?
I really love this portrait....it definitely tells a story. well done!
Beautiful work, Maria! I so love these pieces that look as though they are from the streets of Russia.
Such a sensitive, touching portrayal.
'so much work to be done.....yet it is never finished.........'
