Daisey Mum Pastel by Charlotte Yealey

12x16
Pastel
I don't paint a lot of flowers but when I do I usually paint a single flower. My daughter got me this plant for Easter and I love the color. The flowers are white but a hint of purple so I thought I would give it a try. I am totally dissatisfied with the leaves and need to work on them some more.
What do you think?

I like the movement of this painting and the contrast of the background to the foreground. There is a nice pattern to the leaves and is really ok.

Great crisp and healthy feeling. I agree with Maria.

Like the painting. As for the leaves. My suggestion is:
put more change of direction of the leaves in. Add a few dead leaves or holes with darker shadows to break up the uniformity of the leaves.

But - I do like the painting. You should do more flowers.
