Water Music Series (Middle Creek) by Bertie Brown

Water Music

original watercolor on Clayboard: 6"w x 6"h

Surprise Symphony for Sophie

Sophie eyes were all a-flutter

As we watched those geese

Spit and sputter

With such great flurry

And greater hurry

They crashed into the water

They just couldn’t bother

To gracefully dive

When chaos apparently

Allows them to thrive

And noisy city streets

Have not got them beat

Their honking cacophony

Is their own spring symphony.

Bertie- it's beautiful!!!
I love the looseness(is there such a word?) of this scene. Especially from a painter whose brush always tightens up when I paint. Will you be showing this anywhere in the Harrisburg area? I would love to see the original.

Bertie I love it! We went to see all the snow geese this year and it was an amazing sight. I love the movement in your paintings. Thank you for sharing.

What a pleasing composition! The repetition, and yet variation, of the fluid lines is perfect.

So delightfully beautiful, Bertie. The palette is spot on.

Very nice. Your paintings always look like you really had fun with them. Love the limited and very successful palette.

I am always impressed when something is said with so little... Lovely looseness, colors, movement!
