'Study of an Eastern Ringtail- Adult & Nymph Stages' by Thom Glace

Transparent Watercolor on Crescent Mat Board
Image Size: 4.5" x 6.5". Matted Size: 8" x 10".
NOTE: Non-Professional Photo.

A new Twist in my ongoing series
 of North American Dragonflies.
Showing the 2 major Stages in the Dragonfly Life Cycle.
The Nymph is kind of an Ugly Duckling, but fun to paint.

Somehow you manage to make even 'ugly ducklings' look great, Thom!

She may be ugly to you, but your rendition of her is beautiful.

Thanks to you Thom I learned something new today about the life cycle of the beautiful dragonfly. You amaze me with your delicate detail when capturing these North American dragonflies. Keep up the good work!

Such intricacy here, Thom. I've always thought dragonflies were beautiful. Here you see many that have a dark blue looking body, gossamer wings that look opalescent but picking up blues and greens and violets in the sunlight...

I think the Nymph is quite lovely. At first glance the lower torso appears to be ringed with bells of many sizes.
