A painting of the inside of a window. You have mastered the light and shadowing from both sides. Seeing the lighting from inside shows off your excellent ability to soften your paintings so beautifully.
One thing I have noticed since being able to follow your work on DPP is the variety of subjects you paint. Seeing you at various shows in the past, you display a large selection of Lancaster Subjects.- I am sure they are the most popular with show crowds in the area. But, with DPP, I can view so much more of your work, and see how you go about paintings them.
Andy, this is one of my favorites of yours. It took me back to my grandmother's house when I was a child, with the soft light filtering through the lace curtains, and a plant on an old chest (hers were usually african violets). This is gorgeous. You have such a talent for capturing a quiet, intimate moment in time.

Wonderful finish on the chest. The whole feeling is peaceful.

I agree with Mary Beth--the patina on the chest is beautiful--a warm, comforting little painting.
