2010 Pottery #1 by Andy Smith

6"x4" Miniature Original Watercolor
$225.00 ~ Contact the studio
A simple composition of pottery.

Thom commented on my choice of subjects...
I pretty much paint where ever I have last been.
Since I do so much historical sightseeing it may
seem like Lancaster County however it is pretty
much all over the place. There is a good
variety even on my show stand. The blog does
allow me to experiment a bit more because the
size is small and I am not committed to a large
painting. I cannot get bored with so much variety
in subjects!

I agree--I think a variety of subject matter-keeps me "honest" as a painter--the concentration it takes to study and render different subjects is often a struggle--but to me, it should never get too easy--painting should always be a struggle.

By the way, the finish on your pottery is "jewelike".

I was immediately attracted to the expertly painted highlights on your pottery, Andy. I agree with Cecelia - they sparkle like diamonds!
