The Peekaboo Ballerina
23-1/8 x 18"
Watercolor by Linda Young
Private collection
This is my great niece, Lauren when she was about a year and a half old, playing "Peek-a-boo" with the sheer curtains. Sitting on the window sill of her home, the sunlight was coming in and illuminated her tutu and the room glowed. A picture just had to be taken of her and then the painting naturally followed. Lauren will be two in April.
This painting will be on exhibit at the Carlisle Arts Learning Center in May 7.

What a fabulous moment in time you have captured! Such a beautiful and sweet painting and one I know will always be cherished for the memories it brings.
So dear--brings back so many memories of my children and grandchildren at the window seat in our dining room.
This is a delightful painting!
What a terrific painting. I love the way you handled the sheer curtains and her expression.
This is absolutely adorable, Linda. You have a wonderful talent!
Thank you. Lauren makes me smile!
How cute! I love the flowing drapery...as graceful as a ballerina........
I must see this at your May 7th show. Amazing!
