Musically Inclined Series (Flugelhorn) by Bertie Brown

Musically Inclined (Flugelhorn)

original: 15 1/2"w x 11 1/2"h

Flugelhorn

The Flugelhorn’s not a copycat

(But you already do know that)

Not a trumpet or cornet

Or a curvy French Horn-et

Distinctive and unique

It has its own mystique..

The Flugelhorn can choose

A jazz tune or the blues

With a certainty of style

That makes me want to nod

And smile...

This is a terrific painting. The background colors set off the shiny horn beautifully.

Love your whole musical instrument series, Bertie. Funny your poem mentioned the trumpet and coronet; I thought this was definitely one or the other. Betty White and the Golden Girls come to mind with the name of this instrument!

You have a lot of depth in this painting, Bertie. That horn leads the eye deep into it.

The word 'flugelhorn' just makes me want to giggle! I love the way you paint reflections, Bertie.
