Gettysburg Sunflowers II by Mary Beth Brath

Gettysburg Sunflowers II by Daily Painter of Pennsylvania Mary Beth Brath
12x12" Acrylic on Canvas
Sold
About 2 years ago, the fields just north of Gettysburg Pa. were covered with sunflowers. I didn't have time to paint plein air, but my family and I stopped to take pictures so I could work in my studio. How I hope the landowner will once again plant his fields with these beauties.

Your painting is so wonderful. It evokes a feeling of happiness, contentment and everything being right in the world. No wonder it sold!

I LOVE this painting, Mary Beth!..Sun buttered petals bursting from that cinnamon toast center.......and the leaves catching the sunlight as well...and I like the square format, too.

I've seen this sunflower field you've painted and last year I missed getting to it. I hope he plants it again. I love the sunflowers and note how well you made their fuzzy leaves!

Mary Beth, this is one of your best! The petals of the main sunflower are so incredible with the sun shining through them, making them luminious. We all need to take a trip there if they grow sunflowers again!

The fields were planted with something else last year. I wonder if the landowner knows how many people enjoyed his work.

What a fabulous painting--I love the composition--that beautiful sunflower, smack in the middle, staring at me full face, confident that I'm going to love it. Then my eyes wander into the middle and background--so much to look at-great job on on the leaves, the blue streak of mountains, the placement of the trees.

Oh so pretty! (It reminds me of a kind of scary movie I saw on tv; crop was sunflowers!)

It's somehow bright, yet muted, at the same time. Very comfortable treatment of the colors. It's just plain happy!
