'Bouillabaisse'
by Claire Beadon Carnell
'Bouillabaisse'
9" X 12"
on archival linen board
I did this painting for the DSFDF Challenge, and
added the fish to make it different. I loved
working with the saturated colors and playing with
the shadows, and especially enjoyed creating the shadow
and reflected light for my imaginary fish!
'Bouillabaisse' is currently available for purchase on eBay.

I'll be over for some of that bouillabaisse, Claire. It looks so lucious now, that I could reach for one of those tomatoes. That fish fits is there so well...I can feel his volume. Great painting.
Claire I just postd a long comment about this painting which did not show up here. So, in a nutshell--lovely still life with vivid colors and strong contrasts--thanks for sharing it with us.
Love the subject matter! Much more interesting than a typical Still Life. And to have it as ingredients... Your style is very enjoyable- What I call realism with a 'painterly touch'. I look forward to your next painting.
I liked this when I first saw it on the DSFDF site. I also like to join in the challenges when I can.
I like the composition on this one! One of those still lives that just tempting me to try paint something of this sort too. :-)Great job!
Really like this painting and your style. Like Thom said you have realism with a painterly touch.
Well done!
Thanks, Pat. You are welcome anytime!
Thank you, Cecelia. That has happened to me so many times, and it always seems to happen when you've written a lengthy comment. :(
