"Livy"
10 1/2" x 13 1/2"
Watercolor
This is my sister, Rita's Springer Spaniel who went to "Rainbow Bridge" on November 25. She was her loyal companion and friend of 13 years. When I painted this, it was as if I was guided by her spirit and was emotional for me. Livy, who was a quiet dog, loved the snowflakes and her favorite place to be was near the pond (or in it!)

Please pass me a kleenex...this is so touching, and you have really done an absolutely beautiful painting of your sister's puppy dog. Our pets are such good friends - always so loyal and loving.
You sister will probably need some kleenex too, but she is going to treasure this forever.
I am so sorry that Rita lost her Livy. I grew up with Springers and they are so intelligent, so full of love. This will be a sad Christmas for your sister but I know that this beautiful painting will bring her so much joy. Just beautiful and a true testament of your love, and Livy's love, for Rita.
What a lovely gesture and painting. I know that your sister will treasure it. Topper is the name of the special Springer I knew... just a great breed!
Linda this is so sweet. You know I love animals. It is wonderful to give a gift like this. Your sister will cherish this forever. Well done.
Linda - don't think I've said "hello" yet, so please take this comment as my welcome to the group. This is really a very sweet portrait with a great deal of warmth and sensitivity. I know your sister will be very appreciative. Really seems to come from the heart -- beautifully done.
Linda, this turned out beautifully. Your sister will really love this. What a wonderful way to remember Livy.
Gotta tell ya! Tonight, I was visiting with my sister and we were talking about a painting I did of her granddaughter (my great niece) and my sister, Rita, said someday she'd like me to do one of her dog Livy. She said it would be nice to see her again.
I know she'll love it for sure! It's framed and ready to go to it's new home.
Just to let everyone know, I gave Rita the painting of Livy and as you all have said it would be, was emotional for her as well as my entire family. There wasn't a dry eye in the house. She loves it.
