Welcome to the Daily Painters of Pennsylvania Blog - Mary Beth Brath

Hello and Welcome to the new group blog spot for fine artists from the state of Pennsylvania that paint on a daily basis. Yes, life does happen and some days we just can't be at the easel, but for the most part, being prolific and dedicated to our careers as professional artists is what we are all about. It is much much more than a "hobby" or "outlet" or "release".

Contact me by email at mbbrath@verizon.net if you would like more information or are interested in being juried in as a member.

This painting is titled "In Touch...Yet Remote". It was created for the Garden Harvest Day Festival at King's Gap State Park in the fall of 2009. I was honored to be part of a group of plein air artists that exhibited in the mansion during the festival. This man is often seen sitting in the garden reading his newspaper.

Thank you for this great beginning, Mary Beth! Nice little landscape to start it with. What size? What media? Sorry for so many questions, but I didn't paint with you, guys at King's Gap and didn't have opportunity to see it personally.

Thanks Tatiana -
The size is 8" x 10", medium is acrylic. I just started to do figurative works and I really love it. When this painting was exhibited in the Mansion next to this garden, a woman looked at it and right away said, "That man is here all of the time reading his paper!". I was so excited that he was recognized!
Thank you everyone for your kind comments.
