Sea Studies by Linda Young watercolor artist accepted in juried exhibition.

Sea Studies, watercolor
on illustration board
14-1/2 x 20"
TODAY, I received an email from the curator at Art Association of Harrisburg  with this painting sent as an attachment.  She asked if this was painting was labeled correctly as "Percussion" because the painting that was attached to her email (the one shown above) was the accepted piece.  She wanted to clarify the title for the catalog. They had notified me of one piece's name; but accepted a different painting.

This painting is actually called "Sea Studies" and is actually the painting that was accepted.  Under an earlier post, I reported the blue painting really called "Percussion" was accepted but it was because they had told me "Percussion" was the one--thinking it was this one.

Are we confused yet?  I hope this explanation will suffice.  In any way, I'm happy we got it clarified.

"Whale Tales" By Debra Tritt Kreiger

"Whale Tales" 10"x14" on 140lb Arches Paper

I couldn't resist paniting this scene. We took a whale watching tour from Provincetown, MA. We saw about 20 humpback whales, mostly moms and babies. I tried to capture the signature beauty of these magnificent creatures. My subject is a little bottom heavy so I duplicated the whales tail shape using the sea birds and lightened up the left side of the sky to draw your eye back and around. It was a beautiful day!
