SAVANNAS PARK PRESERVE STREAM By Cecelia Lyden

This is a stream in the Savannas Park Preserve in Ft Pierce, Fla, where a  couple of my fellow painters spied two alligators in the water. I stayed put-didn't even venture a peek. They, my fellow painters and the alligators, can run a lot faster than I.
I have painted in this park many times. This section of the stream is surrounded by many different palms and other vegetation. Their shade, the deep green growth in the water contrast with the sunshine, clouds and blue skies and have made for beautiful scenes.
This is another painting I did in Savannas Park, from the bridge, a couple of years ago. The deep, rich  shadows in the water inspired me as much as the palms.
