Fallen, 14 x 11" plein air oil painting by Jill Peckelun

A friend and I painted at the edge of the Susquehanna River in Middletown recently.  I was drawn to the interplay of water, trees, and earth at the river's edge.  It was a very windy day, which seemed appropriate, considering I was painting a fallen tree.  I love the depth of the mountain beyond with all the promise of trees' greenery to come.
