LILY PADS WITH PALM REFLECTIONS By Cecelia Lyden

This arrangement of lily pads, floating atop a very still pond, created a beautiful design with the dark reflections of surrounding palm trees. The stillness of the pond water made these reflections and the sky background appear very flat. I loved the graphic design effect this created and tried to keep all the shapes somewhat flat.

Great design, and I love your clear and concise colors. I have many pics of looking down into still water ponds in Pa. Never new quite how to handle them. Maybe I'll try now!

THANK YOU-I PAINTED THIS FROM THE PHOTO I TOOK AT MCKEE BOTANICAL GARDEN--IT WAS A CLOUDY DAY-NO DEEP SHADOWS ANYWHERE--THAT CONTRIBUTED TO THE FLATNESS OF THE SHAPES--I KNEW I WANTED TO PAINT THIS AS SOON AS I SAW THE PHOTO.
