I've been working on this painting and my process is to photograph it and see it in a different size. Sometimes I will photograph a small portion to see if the painting is better when I subtract a section. What do you think, should I cut off the bottom? It's not a problem to cut off, it is painted on canvas glued to a board. I just need to let it dry and then saw off her legs!

I actually like the original. I like the lines of the large blanket she is working on and the yarn being drawn up from the ball. It tells more of a story than the cropped version.
I agree with Julie. The original painting gives more of a complete story. I like the composition and the contour of the blanket she is working on.
Yup. This was a very good lesson for me. The story is so much stronger with the full version. Interesting indeed.

I, too, like the original painting. The lines of the blanket and even the shelf, all lead the eye into the painting and to her crocheting hands. And, of course, we then want to see it all. Great painting, Sharon!
