Harper's Ferry Crossing" by Larry Lerew

Acrylic & Ink on 10.5 x 13.5" Watercolor Paper
This painting was started August 2011 from a plein air pencil sketch I made the year before and I just figured out how to bring it to completion by adding loose black ink calligraphy. Notice the distant mountains were left untouched to help them sit back in the painting while the foreground and middle ground are enhanced by the line work. Progressing as an artist gives me a chance to see things all new again.
